Students earn an Associate
of Science degree in Fire Science upon successful
completion of this program. |

you will learn |
- history, traditions, terminology, organization,
and operation of the fire service
- provide insight into the inner workings
of the fire service
- the requirements of the fire service
in areas of infectious disease
control, firefighter
protective clothing, and fire
scene safety
- the basic requirements of the fire fighter
in the performance of his/her duty from suppression, code
enforcement, technical
rope rescue
- The student will have several opportunities
to use a simulator to promote an understanding
of fire tactics and fire behavior and to formulate strategies for utilizing
various resources within the fire organization
- Basic wildland firefighting knowledge, skills
- Principles of emergency incident
management
- Basic investigative techniques for fire
causes and origin
- Develops the student's speaking
and creative skills as well as
the ability to use instructional tools
and various media in an educational environment
